Valour FC sign forward Daryl Fordyce from Sligo Rovers
Canadian Premier League side Valour FC have added veteran attacking-midfielder, Daryl Fordyce, to their 2020 roster. The 33-year-old striker joins the club from the Irish Premier League side Sligo Rovers.
"Daryl brings a wealth of experience of playing in North America," Valour FC head coach and GM Rob Dale said in an official club statement. "He will add leadership and proven attacking quality. Despite offers from Europe, Daryl showed a great desire to return to Canada and we are delighted he has agreed to join Valour."
Fordyce will bring some significant North American experience to the Winnipeg-based club. After emerging from the Portsmouth youth-academy in 2005, the 33-year-old had stints at FC Edmonton and Cincinnati in the NASL and USL. He has also represented Northern Ireland at the U-19 and U-21 levels.
"Throughout my career, I've never lost any enthusiasm to help my teammates wherever I've been," Fordyce said in a club statement. "I'm so happy and thankful to be returning to Canada with my family.
