The Indian Super League has experienced numerous trends in player transfers since it began. First off, during the early stages, the clubs would frequently sign big money marquee contracts with players who were nearing retirement.
Then there was a time when the Indian Super League clubs were not at all willing to pay any transfer fees for any player, which did not really come as a surprise to the fans as the clubs weren't making much money.

A minor to large amount of transfer fees are now being paid by teams to obtain their acquisitions, reversing the previous norm. The teams have continued to pay transfer fees this summer in order to sign their top transfer targets. With transfers involving a transfer fee, Kerala Blasters were the most active team during this window.
While it's still customary in Indian football to keep transfer fees a secret, reputable football writers and media outlets revealed the same of some players this summer.

Anirudh Thapa
Anirudh Thapa's move from the Chennaiyin FC to the Mohun Bagan Super Giant is the biggest transfer in Indian Super League history. Chennaiyin are said to have gained a whooping ₹3 Crore for Thapa's deal.
Akash Mishra
Akash Mishra had been in talks with Mohun Bagan for a while about joining the Mariners. However, Mohun Bagan reneged on a deal that was nearly finalized when Anirudh Thapa became available in the market. The India international left-back was eventually acquired by Mumbai City FC for ₹2.6 Crore transfer fee, with Mumbai's left-back Vignesh Dakshinamurthy heading to Hyderabad FC as part of the transaction.
Prabhsukhan Singh Gill
East Bengal FC were in dire need of a good-quality goalkeeper, an area that wasn't functioning well for the club in the previous season. East Bengal paid the Kerala Blasters ₹1.5 Crore transfer fee to get the services of Prabhsukhan Singh Gill.
Aibanbha Dohling
The most recent singing of Aibanbha Dohling by Kerala Blasters FC from FC Goa's is another big transfer that involved transfer fee. Dohling signed for Kerala Blasters most recently after the Blasters finally agreed a ₹1.45 Crore transfer fee with FC Goa for their top left-back target.
Sahal Abdul Samad
The biggest shock of the summer was Sahal Abdul Samad's transfer to Kolkata club Mohun Bagan. Blasters gained a fee of ₹90 L and Pritam Kotal in the deal, benefiting both the sides.
