“This was a no-brainer. Franco is a bundle of energy, he’s got an incredible work rate. This is something we have targeted as we have brought players in,” Minnesota United head coach Adrian Heath said in a club statement. “Similar to Robin Lod and Emanuel Reynoso, he’s someone who can play multiple positions, which over the course of a season, having that versatility is hugely beneficial. We primarily see him playing on the left-hand side and coming in on his right.”

Fragapane is a product of the Boca Juniors youth system. After three games for Boca's first team, he moved first on loan to Elche Ilicitano, then for Celta Vigo B. In July 2016, he left Boca after 11 years to join Arsenal Fútbol Club. A year later he moved to CA Unión, who he left after 55 games for CA Talleres. At Talleres, the Argentine played 56 games, scoring nine goals and four assists.
