The Seattle Sounders have reached their fourth MLS Cup final in the last five years in the most dramatic fashion. The Sounders came from behind to beat Minnesota United 3-2 in the Western Conference final.

Despite the Raven Green being the more dominant team over the full 90 minutes—Seattle would finish the game with 63% possession and 24 to 7 scoring attempts—it was the Loons that would take a 2-0 lead. Once again, playmaker Emanuel Reynoso was the orchestrator of chaos. The Argentine playmaker scored with a beautiful freekick in the 29th minute and then collected an assist—setting up a new MLS Cup Playoff record for assists—on a freekick setting up Bakaye Dibassy's header to make it 2-0.

At that point, everything seemed to go wrong for the Sounders. The Raven Green had seen a goal by Raúl Ruidíaz chalked off; the Peruvian forward had committed a foul in the buildup. But Brian Schmetzer's team never gave up and displayed the confidence of a champion, and when Will Bruin scored, it seemed only a matter of time for the Sounders to equalize.

Time appeared to run out when Ruidíaz finally found the equalizer following a corner kick. Then, most dramatically, four minutes and one second later, Gustav Svensson found the winner. The Sounders are the first team to come from two goals down to win within 90 minutes since Real Salt Lake City did it against Columbus Crew in 2009
