Former Whitecaps winger Fraser Aird joins Valour FC
Valour FC have signed Fraser Aird, the club announced today. The former Whitecaps winger joins Valour on a free transfer after his contract with Scottish fourth-tier side Cove Rangers expired.
“We are delighted to sign a player of his undoubted pedigree and experience and have him in Winnipeg,” said Valour FC Head Coach Rob Gale. “He is a terrific character and will be a great addition to our club.”
Aird spent the majority of his career in Scotland. In 2012, he signed his first professional contract with Rangers FC at the age of 16. He was loaned to Vancouver Whitecaps FC for the 2016 season, making 24 appearances across all competitions. He made eight appearances with the Canadian national team, scoring one goal in an international friendly against his second home county Scotland.
