Cercle Brugge also sign Pavlovic on loan after Marcelin - Defenders cost Monaco €20 million
Cercle Brugge have signed another player on loan from partner club AS Monaco. Centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic is the fourth player in the squad of the Belgians, who is actually under contract with the Ligue 1 club. The team of head coach Niko Kovac confirmed the loan of the 19-year-old Serb on Thursday afternoon.
English Cercle head coach Paul Clement can now rely on a Monaco pair in the centre of defence in theory: At the start of the season, Jean Marcelin already arrived in the Belgian capital from the principality. Monaco paid a transfer fee of €10 million each for the defenders in January 2020.
After being a starter for most of this season, Marcelin most recently lost his regular spot at Cercle to former Rangers centre-back David Bates. Pavlovic, on the other hand, has only made one appearance under Kovac this season, coming on as a substitute just before the final whistle. Both Marcelin and Pavlovic are under contract with Monaco until 2024.
