Bundesliga sides Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha Berlin will kick off the annual Florida Cup on Wednesday 7 p.m. at the Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg. Admission is free and the game will be aired for free on various social media channels.

The tournament will then move to Orlando City's Exploria Stadium for further matches on Jan. 15 and Jan. 18. There two Brazilian teams, Corinthians and Palmeiras, Colombian side Atlético Nacional as well as New York City FC from Major League Soccer will face each other.

"I would like to use this to build the base for the second part of the season," Hertha Berlin coach Jürgen Klinsmann said in an interview with Pro Soccer USA. "For us, it's very important to have top training fields and top training conditions. We can do quality work with the players and the players are happy to get some sunshine."

Eintracht Frankfurt have been equally complementary about the training facilities available in Florida.

"As mentioned before, it’s our second training camp here and everyone’s enjoying it a lot," Frankfurt's Timothy Chandler said in an interview posted on the club's homepage. "It’s just beautiful here. The atmosphere is pleasant, there’s a relaxed general mood, which means we can completely concentrate on football in training."

Meanwhile, for New York City FC fans the Florida Cup will provide a first opportunity to see new head coach Ronny Deila in action. On Jan. 15, NYCFC will face Corinthians and then three days later take on Palmeiras.

"It will be very important to play against these teams as we prepare for the season ahead," NYCFC's Brazilian striker Héber said in an interview with the club's official homepage. "This will help us prepare, not only for the MLS season, but also the Concacaf Champions League where we will face teams with the same playing style and technical level."
