Atlético make Dembélé bid - Lyon to sign Slimani from Leicester City?
According to the French paper L'Équipe, Atlético Madrid have made a loan offer for Olympique Lyon striker Moussa Dembélé on Thursday. After terminating the contract with Diego Costa, the club from the Spanish capital has been on the lookout for a replacement. Dembélé is currently out with a fractured arm.
During the last two seasons the 24-year-old was the best striker for OL and increased his market value from €7 million to €50 million at one point. This season the forward has struggled, however, and scored just one goal in 18 games. The forward spent significant time on the bench and was among the biggest losers in the recent Ligue 1 market value update. Despite the striker's lack of form and the current injury—Dembélé is expected to return in February—Atlético are willing to take the risk. L'Équipe also wrote that he striker is extremely interested in joining the Colchoneros.

The offer from Atlético is a loan deal with an option to buy the player at the end of the season. Lyon have already signalled that they would be willing to let the player go. Dembélé is currently under contract until 2023 at OL. In Leicester City's Islam Slimani, OL have already identified a potential successor for Dembélé
