Selangor signs German defender Heubach - "want to help the young Malaysian players"

Selangor FA signs German centre-back Tim Heubach, who last played three years in Israel and before that played 91 games in the 2nd Bundesliga in Germany. The 32-year-old confirmed the transfer to Transfermarkt.

"After my time in Israel, I realised that playing abroad appeals to me more than, for example, the third division in Germany. The overall package simply fits. Now I have the opportunity to discover foreign cultures through football, to gain completely new impressions and to travel to another part of the world. In any case, it's a very cool and exciting project that I'm looking forward to. The talks with both Michael Feichtenbeiner and Karsten Neitzel convinced me immediately, and their enthusiasm for Malaysia has also spilled over to me. I want to lead the way and help the young Malaysian players in particular with my knowledge and experience so that they can play in a bigger league at some point," explains the former Kaiserlautern professional.

Technical director Feichtenbeiner told Transfermarkt about the signing of Heubach: "We had a very long and detailed exchange with Tim and were able to establish that he fits perfectly into the team in terms of character. Right from the start, you could tell that he was keen on football and that he had a great sense of adventure to help shape something unusual."
